Questo articolo, nel seguire la riflessione filosofica di Emmanuel Lévinas, si focalizza sulla condizione carnale dell’uomo, un tema che diverrà centrale nel corso del XX secolo. Sin dalla sua origine, la Filosofia occidentale è stata caratterizzata dalla logica dell’identità, che pone l’io quale unico punto di riferimento ad esclusione del mondo dei sensi. In questo modo il corpo diventa il luogo della menzogna, da cui l’uomo deve allontanarsi e così la differenza, la pluralità e l’alterità, che tanto caratterizzano la sua vita, vendo escluse. Quest’esclusione, ne corso del ‘900, diventano letali, in modo particolare quando il Nazismo conquista il potere. Proprio questi eventi hanno spinto Lévinas a pensare l’essere a partire dalla sua condizione carnale.
According to Lévinas’s meditation this article focuses on the carnal condition of the man which will be a central theme in the Twentieth century. Since its inception, the Western Philosophy is characterized by the logic identity, which refers only to the ego and is ruled out the world of the sense. In this way the body becomes the place of the lie by which man must leave and the difference, the diversity and the otherness, which characterize his life, are excluded. This exclusion, during this century, proved to be very dangerous for the humans in particular when the Nazism came to power. So these events led Lévinas to think the being according to the body.
